Netra Tarpanam is highly beneficial for various eye disorders, particularly for those exposed to visual strain, such as people working long hours in front of computers or machines. The procedure helps to:

Procedure Overview:
- Purvakarma (Pre-Procedure Preparation): The patient’s body is prepared through various Panchakarma treatments to ensure optimal conditions for the procedure.
- Pradhana Karma (Main Procedure): The patient lies supine on a treatment table (Droni). A compact, leak-proof frame made of powdered black gram is constructed around the eyes. The lukewarm, medicated ghee is then gently poured into the wall until it reaches the level of the tip of eyelashes. The patient is instructed to gently open and close their eyes while the ghee is retained for the prescribed time.
Paschat Karma (Post-Procedure Care): After the procedure, the ghee and black gram ring is removed, and the area around the eyes is cleaned. Medicated smoke is inhaled. A subsequent procedure, known as Putapaka, may be conducted following the completion of Netra Tarpanam.
